Our History

The Town of Wallkill Golf Club is located in the Town of Wallkill. It is a public owned golf course that stretches over 68 acres of beautiful rural land within New York state.

The course was built in 1991 having been designed by Steve Esposito, an esteemed landscape architect who aimed to combine impressive New England style with 18 challenging holes to create a golf course that not only offers fantastic play, but looks stunning, too. He chose to build the course around gorgeous lagoons and rolling terrain, making the most of the charming woodlands that the area has to offer.

The result is a stunning course where each and every hole feels totally isolated from the outside world. It is the ideal venue to relax whilst teeing off with friends and family, and at around an hour’s drive from New York City, it is close enough to welcome city dwellers as well as local residents.

Since 1991, the club has gone from strength to strength and is now a championship course, having hosted a number of Metropolitan Golf Association Qualifiers. It has also been the course of choice for the Orange County Amateur, and as a result of its popularity as a competitive course, the club began to host its own annual Club Championship, which sees both locals and non-residents come together for some friendly competition.

The success of Wallkill Golf Club is proven by its impressive status as a four-star winner according to the annual ratings of Golf Digest’s ‘Place to Play’ – a fine feat that has local residents feeling incredibly proud of its club. Although all are welcome to play on its course, the club offers a special annual membership and lower rates to Orange and Sullivan County residents in order to celebrate its position as a vibrant local amenity. The club has a wonderful ability to bring the local community together to enjoy sports and recreation, and will continue to do so for many years to come.
